User Lookup
User Lookup helps teams meet compliance obligations by returning all deletion activity for a specific user identifier.
What it does
- Enter an identifier (for example: email, user ID, external ID, distinct ID).
- Forget API returns all deletion Requests and their sub-requests created for that identifier across your connected integrations.
Why it’s useful
- Verify a user’s deletion request was initiated and completed across systems.
- Quickly answer support or compliance questions with a single search.
Data retention behavior
- If your organization’s data retention setting hashes identifiers after completion, hashed deletion Requests will still be returned in lookup results.
- If your organization’s data retention setting deletes Requests from Forget API systems, those deleted Requests will not appear in lookup results.
Notes
- Results include per-integration sub-requests and their latest statuses for full visibility.
- Use consistent identifiers across systems to maximize match accuracy.
